Comfrey

Comfrey is a perennial, bristly, hairy herb growing up to 1.5 m tall with mostly reddish-violet bell-shaped flowers. Symphytum officinale is commonly used as a medicinal plant. Only Traumaplant uses the special Trauma comfrey (Symphytum x uplandicum).

The comfrey medicinal plant used to produce Traumaplant® Pain Cream comes from a controlled home-grown cultivation facility in Germany, where a special "trauma comfrey" is cultivated. The requirements for consistently high-quality plant extracts are decisively influenced by controlled cultivation, optimized harvest times, and careful testing of the medicinal plant material.

Comfrey has a centuries-old tradition as a medicinal plant and was already used in the Middle Ages by Abbess Hildegard of Bingen as a remedy for broken bones, sprains, bruises and even burns due to its anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
